Making a rustic king storage bed, eclectic or country home decor can be easily done using three old wooden doors. Not only will your headboard become the focus of your bedroom, but it is also environmentally friendly as you are recycling the doors

Find three doors that fit a king size mattress, which is on average 76 by 80 inches. The gable must be slightly larger to allow a little overhang on each side. Sand the doors with heavy sandpaper to remove accumulated dirt or peeling paint. Continue leveling the doors with ever brighter sandpaper.
Paint, bets or polyurethane doors. Lay the doors down and side by side. Attach metal braces to doors to create a large surface of wood. Place a brace 10 inches from the top and the other brace 10 inches from the bottom. Find wall joists, and attach the bottom pieces of the recessed appliances to your wall. Attach the upper king bed parts to the back of the gable so that all the pieces fit together. Hang the gable, and center your mattress in front of it.
